Unused airfare credits may be available

The COVID pandemic caused many airlines to cancel booked flights and distribute credits to customers who were impacted. Some of these credits were issued to university employees for university-sponsored travel. These credits can be used before the expiration date. Each expiration date is set by the individual carrier.

We’re reaching out to remind you that you may have unused credits expiring in 2023. If you do have credits available, we encourage you to use them for upcoming university travel.

If you have an unused ticket, you should have received an email from Christopherson Business Travel. These emails are sent out on the first day of each month.

HOW TO REVIEW, ACCESS, AND REUSE UNUSED TICKETS

  • The unused credit can be viewed in your Concur Profile under “Unused Tickets” as shown below.
  • Unused ticket exchanges can be made with a Christopherson Travel Advisor or via the Concur online booking tool. If you choose to use the Concur online booking tool, the credit will automatically be applied toward the cost of a new ticket.
  • If you have a partially unused ticket, international unused ticket, group ticket, or if you want to wait and use the credit for another trip or traveler, you must book directly with the travel agency and not the online tool.

Note: Most airline unused ticket credits are not transferable. However, the airline may make an exception to apply the credit to another person within the department. Contact the travel agency for details.

Please contact the Christopherson Business Travel advisor team with questions at travelagency@utah.edu.
